Chit Chat and Some bits from Avon

Hello everyone, Hope all of you have had a lovely weekend. Mine's not been too bad. Saturday we went out to buy a new bed, picked out the perfect one and the mattress is soooo comfy but was gutted as can't get it delivered until the end of next week. I've not been sleeping well lately so I'm hoping this will help. Any other suggestions for help with sleeping?? After bed shopping me and my Mr and little man Oscar went to Pizza Hut and had a lovely meal, I'm boring and always order the regular Pan ham and mushroom with a salad bowl, so scrummy yummy so I never want to try anything different, anyone else like that and always order the same from places?

Our new bed x

Today (Sunday)  I've spend most of my day in bed as my back has been playing up. It's has given me chance to catch up on blogs and videos I've been behind on and also I've found some great blogs so it's all not been a waste.

Got a mini operation coming up on Friday so a bit nervous about that (I have to have it done every 9 months but the nerves never go away). I don't usually get nervous for hospital appointments, operations, etc as I'm so used to them but this particular operation I have to be awake for and it's very painful so I always dread it. I'll let you guys know how I get on afterwards but I'll be fine I'm sure. I've had it done before and it really helps me in my life so is well worth the pain. I'm sure non of you guys are that interested in this but as it's my space to talk and vent I felt like sharing lol.

My little boy started nursery school last week and has really loved it so I'm very happy about that. I haven't been happy about doing the school run in all this rain though! Hope it goes away soon.

Also wanted to share with you some bits I picked up out of the last Avon brochure. I love Avon, so affordable and are always on trend and up to date with the market products and shades. Plus you don't have to leave your house to shop which is a bonus.

Well I hope I haven't bored you all too much.
Anyone want to see a review on any of the products? Just let me know and I'll certainly do one.

Have a great week, Danielle x :)

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Skin Heroes - Dry Skin Mask

Today's post is going to be a review on Montagne Jeunesse new Skin Hero's range.

I'm a massive Montagne Jeunesse fan so jumped at the chance to try out their new range. I was kindly sent the range to try out.

This is a great new range that has 5 new products aimed at problem areas.

This is what Montagne Jeunesse say about their new range:
Are you having a skin problem? Do you need help? Do you always ask yourself ‘which mask shall I use for my Oily/Dry/Spot Prone/Blackheads or T-Zone Skin? Fear not our NEW Skin Hero Range has landed and are raring & ready to fight for your right to clear, healthy skin the natural way; it’s your weekly essential for healthy, gorgeous, problem free skin.

These are the products in the new Skin Hero's range:
  • Dry Skin Mask
  • De-clog Pores nose strips
  • Break Out Mask
  • Shine Control
  • T-Zone Peel Off

I have normal/dry skin most of the time and have found my skin has been very dry around the mouth area recently so thought the dry skin mask would be a great one to try out first.

What I love about this is that it is a 2 stage mask. The first stage is a
think, creamy souffle mask enriched with Raspberries, Blueberries & Red Grapes that are high in anti-oxidants that protect & replenish. The second stage is a rehydrating serum containing crushed Blueberries & pulped Raspberries.

After cleansing my face I applied the Ultra Moisturising mask and left on for around 20 minutes (I had a nice bath). The mask smelt really nice and fruity and felt so cool and refreshing on my face. Unlike other masks it didn't harden and crumble on my face and leave it feeling tight. It was really easy to remove with warm water. There was a generous amount in the sachet and could maybe stretch to two usages but I just loaded my face up and got rid of the excess.
Once my face was clean of the mask I applied the second stage Rehydrating Serum. This again smelt lovely but not as fruity as the mask. Again there was a fair amount of product and a little really does go a long way (I may have applied too much as it took a lot to massage into the skin). As this is a serum it can start off feeling a little greasy on the skin but the skin soon absorbs the serum and it didn't feel greasy at all.

With mask on
With serum on
After using both the mask and the serum my skin felt amazing. It was so soft and smooth and felt lovely and refreshed. I couldn't stop touching my face afterwards, lol. I also noticed that the dry areas on my face were much improved and stayed that way.
I would definitely recommend this mask for anyone with normal/dry skin. , I will definitely be picking a few of these up. More than thumbs up from me.

Also Montagne Jeunesses products are are full of natural ingredients, which are gentle on the skin which is great if you suffer from sensitive skin like me! They’re also vegetarian friendly.

The New Montagne Jeunesse Skin Heroes range is now available in Asda supermarkets and are priced at just £1.49 per sachet which is brilliant value for money considering the quality of product you get. You can also get Montagne Jeunesse skin care products online at their website and postage is free if you spend £7.50.

I will do another post on another product in the range soon, any requests?

Have you tried any of the Skin Hero's yet?

Birthday bits and pieces

Hello everyone,

Sorry I've been a bit quiet over that past week but it's been my birthday and my little boys first week of big school so I've been so busy and just haven't had the time to write up any of my posts.

So like I said it's been my birthday, I was 25 on 16th April. I had a lovely day, I went for lunch at TGI Fridays with my family and then had a quiet afternoon/evening at home. On the Wednesday my girlie friends took me to the cinema and we watched Titanic in 3D, I loved it. Almost cried at the end but managed to hold it together.

Here are a few bits I got
Blueberry Muffin
Yankee Candle
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in Black

Vanilla Cupcake Yankee Candle

Primark Orange & Mango Candle

Yummy Chocolate

New Storage
drawers for
make up

I also got a massage chair and knife set and some lovely flowers. Really happy with all my prezzies and as always got spoilt.

All the candles smell gorgeous, I've currently got the Blueberry Muffin one burning and I could just eat it as it smells so lovely.

Feel a lot more organised with my new storage drawers. Using more products that I'd forgot I even had as they are easier to get to now.

So that's my birthday post.

See ya x Danielle x :)

Boots, Body Shop and Mac Haul

Hi everyone, hope all is well.

Well this post has been a long time coming as I picked this stuff up a few weeks ago and took pictures but never got around to putting the posts up so I have combined them and decided to put them up all in one go. I've bought loads more over past few weeks too so expect some more haul posts, oooopppsss spent far too much recently! My excuse is that it's my birthday tomorrow so they are all treats to my self.

As I've had the stuff for a while I can write a few little bits about the products as I've had time to test them out and see what I think.

So first it's some bits I picked up from Boots, they had the 3 for 2 offer on make up and accessories and I also had 2 x £5 off No 7 vouchers so I didn't feel too bad after I'd finished, lol!

  •  I finally picked up a Tangle Teezer. How have I lived without this in my life. It is amazing and I will never be without one again. Typical for me I picked it up in the pink shade.
  • Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr for eyes in Permanent Taupe - A gel cream eyeshadow. Love the formula and also love this shade. Can be blended for a more subtle everyday look or build up for a more dramatic smoky look. Really want to pick this up in the golden shade.
  • L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in 06 Aphrodite Scarlet - Love these lipsticks so lovely and glossy. This is a lovely bright red colour. I also have the shade 07 Cheeky Magenta and love that also.
  • MaXfactors Max Effect Mini Nail Polish in Fantasy Fire - Had to pick this up after seeing all thy hype about it and am glad I did. I've had this on my toe nails for the past week and its so beautiful.
  • YSL's Forever Youth Liberator Eye Creme - I've not tried this yet so can't comment on the cream it's self. This was a impulse purchase and after costing me £40 I'm kind of regretting buying it. I haven't used it as yet as my eczema on my eyes is really bad so I don't want to use anything new that might irritate it. I hope when I do start using it I love it and don't regret buying it.
  • No 7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Totally Teal - Not had chance to wear this but as I don't have many greens in my collection I saw this and thought it would be a good green to have.
  • No 7 Amazing Eye Pencil in Black - Picked this up with a £5 off voucher. I didn't have a good black pencil liner and wanted one to use on my waterline. This works fine and am happy with it as it only cost me £2.

Then I got a few bits from Mac.

  • Select Moisture Cover Concealer in NW20 - I got this as I've been suffering with dry skin on my face and under and around my eyes and my foundation and concealer have been sticking to this and making it look really awful and I thought this would help. To be honest it works just as well as my Studio Fix concealer so I wish I'd not picked it up.
  • Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme Cup - This colour does nothing for me and haven't been able to wear it. Going to try and sell it I think. Anyone interested, only swatched once?

Not really feeling Mac at the moment as I just find their prices are too much for the products. I'm finding I'm less and less looking to purchase from them and looking else where. It may be a phase but I'll keep you up to date, lol.

Lastly I picked up some bits from the Body Shop. I was only looking for a scrub but they had 3 for 2 on skincare and makeup so I couldn't resist and picked up 3 things.

  •  Vitamin C Microdermabration scrub - I was advised by one of the women in the shop to get this as I have noticed I've been getting blackheads on my nose and on my chin. She said this would help with this so I thought I'd give it a try. I haven't had much chance to try it out as as I said previously my eczema on my eyes has flared up so am using minimum products until it goes.
  • Vitamin E Moisture Serum - Really like this. I've been using this before my moisturiser on a night and it has really helped keep my face moisturised longer.
  • Aloe Eye Defence - I got this to try and prevent my eyes from becoming sore and itchy and help them feel nice and refreshed. Again with my eyes been poorly I've not used it.

Anyone tried any of these new products I've picked up and what did you think to them? Anyone else suffer from eczema on the eyelids? How do you treat it. It's really upsetting me to be honest, I get married in 4 months and am really worried it wont go before then. It's so red, dry and sore. I can't put make up on it and am just sick of looking like crap! Sorry rant over.

Hope everyone enjoys whats left of the weekend, Danielle x :)

Lippy Wednesday - Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Tint in Carry On Cherry

Hello Again, yes two posts in one day what is going on? I've had a bit of time today and got such a back log of hauls and posts I need to get on so I'm just going to try and bang them out until I'm up to date.

So this item was included in my What I Loved In March post (available here) as I have enjoyed using it so much since I picked it up. It's Rimmel's offering of the lip tint/balm lip products that have been so popular lately.

So Rimmel's 1000 Kisses Lip Tint + Balm is a transfer proof lip tint with a lip balm to be applied over the top to help keep the lips moisturised.

So as you can see by the photos it comes in a pen like package with a felt tip like end which is the lip tint on one end and on the other end is the clear lip balm. I really like the packaging, it fits snugly into my make up bag and keeps the product safe so all fine with me on that front.

Application is pretty easy, I applied like a lip liner first, used the pen to outline the lips and then filled in the lips. Once dried I applied the balm and here is the outcome.

Carry On Cherry is a lovely cherry red colour and think it would suit most skin tones. Lasting power is pretty good and still had some tint on after about 5-6 hours. I picked mine up in Tesco for £5.99. I've already bought in 2 more shades as I love the formulation and application so much.

Have you tried any of the new tint/balm duos knocking about yet?

Danielle : )

Capitol Colours

Hello everyone

How is everyone? Good I hope. I'm in a great mood today, I've just been to sort a few wedding bits out today and got to go through to the venue again and every time I see it I feel all happy and very excited! Can't believe there is only 4 months left, it's gone so fast.

Today's post is going to be about China Glazes new nail polish collection "Capitol Colours". The collection is a collaboration between China Glaze and Lionsgate for the release of the much anticipated film The Hunger Games.

Now I'm sure most people have heard of the Hunger Games but for those who haven't it's a film that was released on the 23rd March that's based on a trilogy of young adult novels by Suzanne Collins. The first book follows Katniss Everdeen in a post-apocalyptic world who lives in the country of Panem (which is split into 12 districts). The Capitol controls the rest of the nation and every year they hold an event where one boy and one girl aged 12-18 from each of the districts compete in a televised battle until only one survive. The story follows Katniss who is from district 12 who through a series of events finds herself on the way to the capitol for this years hunger games.  The film is based on the first of the books.
Even if you haven't read the books or seen the film (which you most definitely should, they are amazing) the collection is lovely and has a bit for everyone.

China Glaze has decided to keep with the tradition of the book and named their 12 polishes from this collection after the 12 districts of Panem:

Luxe and Lush – District 1 (Luxury) - Chunky flake top coat which look gold, green and pink in direct sunlight.
Stone Cold – District 2 (Masonry) - Deep grey/slate with semi matte finish.
Riveting – District 3 (Technology) - Vivid tangerine orange with fine golden flecks.
Hook and Line – District 4 (Fishing) - Pearly grey with metallic finish.
Electrify – District 5 (Power) - Gold and red glitter - fire in a bottle.
Fast Track – District 6 (Transportation) - A semi sheer pale beigey taupe with very fine golden shimmer.
Mahogany Magic – District 7 (Lumber) - Creamy mid tone brown.
Dress Me Up – District 8 (Textiles) - Creamy pinky-nude.
Harvest Moon – District 9 (Grain) - Copper with gold flecks with a foil finish.
Foie Gras – District 10 (Livestock) - Deep creamy grey shade with glossy finish.
Agro – District 11 (Agriculture) - Olive green with metallic shimmer.
Smoke and Ashes – District 12 (Mining) - Black with ultra fine green and blue shimmer with a glossy shimmery finish.

I've highlighted the colours I picked up from the collection.

L-R, Smoke+Ashes, Electrify, Luxe+Lush, Fast Track and
Dress Me Up.
I like all the colours I got but really love love Smoke + Ashes, so beautiful. I will be doing NOTD posts with the polishes so you can see them on. Any requests for me to do first?

I picked mine up from topnailshop on Ebay for £5.36 each in p+p. There from the USA but postage time not too bad and saves some pennies which is always good.

See ya later xx :)

Lippy Wednesday - Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate shade 01

Hi everyone,

This weeks lipstick post is going to be on a Rimmel's Lasting Finish Lipstick. Kate Moss has her own line of 7 shades for the collection , the shade I have is 01. It's the only colour I have from the range at the moment but after trying this I may pick up some more.

I'll start with the packaging. It comes in a sleek black plastic tube and the cap is signed by Kate in red with a love heart. I like the packaging and think it looks fine, not cheap and keeps the product safe and clean.

Shade 01 is a true bold red. It is very opaque, applys really easily and is lovely and creamy on the lips. It has a slightly sheeny finish even without lipbalm worn with it. I got about 4 hours wear out of this which is great for me as nothing seems to last on my dry lips. With it been quite a drying formula I did pop a it of lip balm on before and after.

Colour pay off is brilliant. If you are looking for a great quality lipstick to achieve that perfect red lip look this spring/summer then this could be for you. I picked this up for £5.49 which I think is a bargain.

I had this on yesterday and felt amazing with it on. Really makes you feel a million dollars $$$$$. Hope you like.

What I loved in March

So it's that time again for the monthly favourite posts, god how quick had March sailed by. So I'll get straight to it and let you know what I've been loving this past month.

So we have:

Skin Care

  • Liz Earle Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask - I have been using this for the past few weeks and have really enjoyed using it . I've been using it once a week and it has really left my skin silky soft and moisturised. I will be doing a review of this soon so keep a look out if your after a brilliant face mask.

  • Balance Me Hydrating Rose Otto & Shea Butter Salve - I recieved this is one of my beauty boxes (sorry it was a while back and I can't remember which one). It's a brilliant lip salve that has really helped me with my horrible dry, cracked and chapped lips over the past couple of months. It contains shea butter and almond oil which really hydrate the lips. It leaves a glossy finish which I like. The only thing is I dont like the taste of it but because it does such a good job on my lips I overlook that. It retails at £8 for a 15ml tube and I will repurchase once this has run out.

Makeup
  •  L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique BB Cream for fair skin tone - I have been loving this and have been reaching for it most days. It gives a light coverage for the day and seems to blend lovely to match my skin tone. Leaves a beautiful natural finish that's not too dewy but leaves your skin looking radiant. Brillaint for my normal to dry skin as it offers 24 hour hydration and also give SPF 12. I picked mine up from Boots for £9.99 but it was part of a 3 for 2 offer.
  •

  •  Illamasqua Cream Blush in promise - Love love love this blush, will be definetly getting a lot of use over the Spring and Summer. I picked it up from BuyaPower for £14. I did a full review of this, available here.

  •  L'Oreal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim in intense black -  Think I prefer this to they much loved Super Liner Carbon Gloss. I find it easy to apply and creates a nice thin line that can be made thicker if you want. I have it on in this FOTD post. This was free as I got it in a L'Oreal 3 for 2 offer.

  • Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Lollipop - So the infamous Lip Butters hit the UK in March and it seems they were a big hit, they definetly were with me. They are a lipstick/lipbalm hybrid. Offer brilliant hydration with great pigmentation. The colour I've been reaching for the most is Lollipop. I've done a full review post with swatches here.

  •
  •  Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Tint in Carry on Cherry - I'm going to do a post about this product as I love it so much I think it definetly deserves a individual post. These last forever on the lips and are really easy to apply. Has a felt tip end to apply the colour and then at the other end has a balm to help moisturise the lips. Thought me dry lips would hate this but it didn't. I've already picked this up in other colours to try. I got mine from Tesco for £5.99.

  •  Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Latino - Love the formualtion of this super hydrating lipstick formula. So silky smooth on the lips. Latino is a lovely glossy frosty pink and I love it. Want every colour in this range.

    Nails

  •  China Glazes Nail Polish in smoke and ashes from the Hunger Games Capitol Colours range - More of Autum/Winter colour but I put it on the other day and fell in love. A shimmery black. I will be doing a post on the polishes I picked up from the Capitol Colours collection.

  •  Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Nourishing Mist - A repeat from my Febuary favourites post. Nearly used this all up, will definetly repurchase. I love to spritz this on my hair before I brush it, makes it smell lovely and help detangle and make brushing much easier. I picked this up in Tesco and it was around £3ish I think.

So that's the things I loved in March. I did get a lot of new stuff and loved most of them but had to narrow it down and these were the ones that stood out the most.

Do any of you love any of these as much as I did?

Danielle x :)
